DUBAI: Fans of Mary J. Blige were eagerly anticipating her long-awaited return to Dubai, but the excitement has come to a sudden halt.
The R&B icon’s concert, originally scheduled for Tuesday, June 24 at the Coca-Cola Arena, has reportedly been cancelled.
The event marked a significant comeback, as it would have been her first full show in the UAE in over a decade. Although the organisers have not provided a formal explanation, the concert listing has been quietly removed from the Coca-Cola Arena’s official events calendar.

Presented by Live Nation Middle East, the concert was set to be a highlight on Dubai’s live entertainment calendar. Mary J. Blige’s recent appearances in the UAE – including a cameo at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – had reignited interest in her music across the region.
The Dubai performance promised a night of nostalgia, energy and classic hits from one of music’s most influential voices.

Wael Kfoury is set to perform at Dubai Opera on June 22, Jennifer Lopez takes the stage at Etihad Arena on July 29, Lil Baby arrives on October 18, Elissa performs at Dubai Opera on November 3, with Enrique Iglesias and Katy Perry also confirmed for year-end shows.
